Our Aconcagua Expedition of January 2023, which started on January 11 and reached the summit on January 20, was filled with determination, perseverance, and unforgettable moments at high altitude. Here’s a detailed report of our team’s achievements and challenges during this incredible climb:


Team Achievements and Summit Outcomes

  • Gabriel Gonçalves successfully reached the summit, proving his endurance and passion for climbing Aconcagua.

  • Pierre had a different goal—he was aiming to reach base camp. He achieved his objective, returning very happy with his experience.

  • Alexandre Valestrin unfortunately had to turn back at Camp 2.

  • Guilherme Borges climbed up to 6,100 meters.

  • Fernando Holderbaum and Claudio Glitzer both reached 6,700 meters.

  • Demetrio Orfale had to withdraw at 6,200 meters.

  • Antônio Carvalho and Francine triumphed by summiting Aconcagua.

  • Fabiana Atalá made it to 6,500 meters.

  • Rodrigo, a valued team member with Parkinson’s, reached 6,700 meters—a significant achievement for mountaineering and a true testament to his spirit.

  • João Giordano reached 6,000 meters, giving his best effort on this challenging climb.

  • Teodora and Mikhailidis from Greece had to descend from Camp 2 due to an issue with Teodora.

  • Serguei successfully reached the summit.

  • John Lilly reached Refuge Independência at 6,500 meters.

  • Paul Rutins, Antônio Jelcic also summited Aconcagua.

  • Martin and Rebeca made it to Camp 3 but ultimately decided to withdraw.
